My worldview, based on dualism, is the friction between our internal world and the external world. I perceive finished pieces as independent objects, with the miracle being that they are external manifestations of mind – proof that I can actually impact the external world. Kandinsky asserted the concept ‘will to form’. What also fascinates me about art is that a single object can manifest multiple realities (through multiple interpretations – by one or more viewer, over time).
I have long had an interest in photography—the chemical and mechanical aspects and the particular way photographs capture time at once real and illusory. Photography reflects our confused state of being: neurotic daydreams juxtaposed with reality. With photography, we can share the internal sensations that we alone undergo.
I’m happy to hear from people; send me a message, if you’d like.
